Job Profile – Senior Accountant Position: Senior Accountant Experience: Minimum 2–5 years (including experience in a Chartered Accountant firm) Location: [Insert Location] Reporting to: Finance Manager / Partner Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Finalisation: Preparation and finalisation of standalone and consolidated financial statements as per applicable accounting standards. Ensuring accuracy in trial balance, ledgers, and reconciliations before finalisation. Statutory Compliance & Audits: Handling statutory, internal, and tax audits. Ensuring compliance with Income Tax, GST, TDS, ROC filings, and other applicable regulations. Preparation and review of audit schedules, reports, and supporting documents. Bookkeeping & Reporting: Overseeing day-to-day accounting operations including vouchers, entries, and reconciliations. Preparation of monthly/quarterly MIS, profit & loss account, and balance sheet. Bank, vendor, and debtor reconciliation. Taxation: Computation and filing of GST returns, TDS returns, and Income Tax returns. Assisting in tax planning and compliance management. Team Management: Guiding junior accountants and article staff. Reviewing their work and ensuring accuracy and timelines. Other Duties: Coordinating with auditors, consultants, and management for smooth completion of assignments. Assisting management in budgeting, cash flow management, and financial analysis. Key Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of accounting standards (Ind AS/IGAAP) and financial reporting. Expertise in finalisation of accounts. Practical knowledge of GST, Income Tax, TDS, ROC compliance. Proficiency in Tally ERP, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, SAP, or other accounting software. Good command of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, MIS reporting). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Ability to lead and review a team of junior accountants.
