SAP Security Senior Specialist


This is a cross-functional support role and will interface with IT and business areas as required. The SAP Security Senior Specialist has ownership for SAP and Governance, Risk and Compliance Security processes globally across all SAP and GRC landscapes. In this role the incumbent provides support and guidance to Solution Consultants, Governance Organization and IT Management on matters relating to SAP Security processes and operations. The SAP Senior Specialist will work closely with the SAP Security Team, Compliance Manager, Identity Access Management Team, Controllership and ERP Solution Consultants. The position is accountable that SAP Security processes are compliant, followed, documented, updated and applied in the organization.


The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Security administration of SAP such as assess business role requirements, design, build, and manage security authorizations, ensuring compliance to security policies and procedures, resolving access problems and handling security incidents
  • Collaborate and recommend proposal to keep SAP security up to date
  • Manage and monitor project implementations
  • Assist with policy and procedure enforcement and reporting
  • Create and update policy, security baseline, and training documents
  • Facilitate trainings on but not limited to GRC Access Control Module (SAP access request, Firefighter activity review, etc.…)
  • Gather requirements from internal clients and provide security and technical expertise to support the development of associated SAP security.


The following isrequiredfor this role:

  • 3-5 years of experience working with SAP R/3, security and compliance experience with GRC v10
  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 environment (at minimum support US hours)
  • Strong work ethic and effective/professional communications at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments and responsibilities
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and exhibit strong sense of urgency


The following ispreferredfor this role

  • Undergraduate degree in an IT major (e.g. computer science, computer information system, management information system)
  • Experience with GRC v12 and S4 Hana
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting and resolution skills including knowledge regarding transaction tracing, issue escalation and problem diagnosis
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • General knowledge of SAP Business Processes/integration points.
