Industry & Sector:

Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) — Food & Beverage sector focused on branded basmati rice processing, packaging and distribution across retail, modern trade and institutional channels. This is an on-site, field-facing sales role covering assigned territories in India.

About The Opportunity

Join a fast-moving CPG sales team that drives distribution, visibility and revenue for premium basmati rice products across general trade, modern trade and distributor networks. You will execute route-to-market plans, grow accounts and deliver consistent sales performance at territory level.Role & Responsibilities
  • Execute daily route plans to acquire and retain retail & distributor accounts; achieve monthly sales and distribution targets for the assigned territory.
  • Manage relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retail store owners; negotiate pricing, schemes and stock replenishment to maximise shelf share.
  • Drive trade activation and in-store merchandising — planograms, promotions, and demos — to improve visibility and velocity of basmati rice SKUs.
  • Monitor competitor activity, market demand and on-ground inventory; provide actionable market feedback to Sales Manager for pricing and assortment decisions.
  • Use CRM to log calls, orders, collections and route analytics; prepare accurate sales forecasts and weekly territory reports.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely deliveries and manage short-dated stock or returns when necessary.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have
  • Proven field sales experience in FMCG or food products within India
  • Strong knowledge of retail distribution and modern trade execution
  • Ability to manage and grow distributor & retailer relationships
  • Proficient with CRM systems and MS Excel for reporting and forecasting

Preferred

  • Experience selling packaged staples (rice, grains or FMCG grocery)
  • Familiarity with trade marketing and in-store merchandising best practices

Additional Qualifications

  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel daily within assigned territory
  • Comfortable with extended field hours and working across varied retail environments
