Sales Engineer

O’Brien Energy is looking for a results-driven Technical Sales Engineer with strong experience in the heavy industry sector. You’ll play a key role in driving service and project sales, managing tenders, and delivering tailored technical solutions to clients. Boiler-specific experience is a bonus—but if you’ve worked with complex industrial systems and thrive in end-to-end sales cycles, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to promote service contracts, spare parts, and new equipment sales
• Prepare and follow up on technical and commercial quotations to maximise deal conversion
• Manage sales activity through Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM—ensuring accurate tracking of leads and opportunities
• Lead and manage tender submissions, ensuring compliance with both technical and commercial requirements
• Collaborate with engineering and service teams to ensure feasibility and efficiency in proposed solutions
• Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to inform sales strategies
• Provide regular sales performance updates, forecasts, and insights to the leadership team

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
• 4+ years of experience in technical sales within heavy industry sectors such as power, energy, manufacturing, or infrastructure
• Strong understanding of industrial systems (e.g., steam, mechanical equipment, plant operations)
• Excellent communication, client engagement, and negotiation skills
• Proficiency in MS Office tools
• Ability to handle multiple leads, quotes, and projects with strong time management
