Sales engineers specialize in technologically and scientifically advanced products . They use their technical skills to explain the benefits of their products or services to potential customers and to show how their products or services are better than their competitors'. Skills required Communication Skills-Engineer sales manager is to brief and train team members and coordinate with other departments like, marketing, customer support and management. Hence, a sales manager must have strong communication skills to convey messages compassionately and clearly. Analytical Skills-To evaluate the sales data, project trends and develop strategies to boost sales. Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy to understand manner Leadership Skills-An engineer sales manager leads a team and is responsible for keeping the team members motivated and developing their skills in technically. Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies Product knowledge -Understanding the features of your product can help you develop sales strategies, allow you to set more accurate sales goals and answer questions your customers or team members may ask. Product/Customer knowledge -Engineer Sales managers that know what interests their customers can help their team develop individualized sales techniques for their target audiences and may increase overall sales. Software analysation in market areas. Evaluating engineer/technical things for sales for performance and continued development. Roles and Responsibilities: A Sales Engineer collaborates with sales executives to execute strategic deals in complex sales cycles. They support solution selling, model the financial aspects of sales opportunities, deliver powerful presentations and demos, manage technical aspects Partnering with sales executives to plan, prepare and execute on strategic deals in complex sales cycles Responsible for driving sales by targeting new prospects and cultivating existing customer relationships to achieve high renewal rates and customer satisfaction. Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition Effectively communicate client needs to the R&D teams for future product enhancements. Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals, manage time, tasks and risks, meet deadlines and manage heavy workloads. Implement best practices for approval of sales requests of technical sales resources. Implement best practices for technical evaluation and response to RFPs, in partnership with sales reps and services staff. In partnership with regional and global sales directors, hire technical sales staff in APAC. Evaluate technical sales team members for performance and continued development. Work with Director of Technical Sales to develop and report metrics for team utilization.
