Overview

Require safety officer for management of project sites. 

The role of a Site Safety Officer is crucial in ensuring the well-being of workers and the compliance of the workplace with safety regulations.

Person should know risk analysis, PPE inspection, JSA, TBT, HIRA, method statement, incident investigation and statutory laws about EHS. 

Hands-on experience in managing EHS of site with at least 40 workmen.

Willingness to travel.

• Safety Inspection:

  Conduct regular inspections of the site to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, or equipment deficiencies. This involves examining scaffolding, machinery, tools, electrical systems, and other elements that could pose risks to workers.

• Risk Assessment:

   Evaluate risks associated with specific tasks or processes on the site. This includes analysing potential dangers such as falls, electrocution, hazardous material exposure, or structural instability.

• Safety Training:

   Organize and conduct safety training sessions for workers to educate them about safety procedures, proper equipment usage, and emergency protocols. This could involve orientations for new hires as well as ongoing training sessions to reinforce safety practices.

• Safety Documentation:

   Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions. Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with relevant regulations.

• Emergency Preparedness:

   Develop emergency response plans and procedures for various scenarios, such as fires, chemical spills, or medical emergencies. Conduct drills to test the effectiveness of these plans and ensure that all workers understand their roles in an emergency situation.

• Safety Regulations Compliance:

  Stay updated on relevant safety regulations and standards issued by government agencies or industry organizations. Ensure that the site is in compliance with these regulations and implement any necessary changes or improvements to maintain compliance.

• Safety Equipment Management:

  Oversee the use, maintenance, and availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear. This includes ensuring that workers have access to necessary equipment such as helmets, gloves, safety harnesses, and respiratory protection.

• Incident Investigation:

   Investigate accidents, near misses, or other safety incidents that occur on the site. Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent similar incidents in the future.

• Communication:

   Facilitate communication between management, workers, and external safety authorities regarding safety concerns, regulations, and best practices. This may involve attending meetings, providing safety updates, or serving as a point of contact for safety-related inquiries.

• Continuous Improvement:

  Identify opportunities for improving safety practices and procedures based on observations, feedback, and industry best practices. Implement initiatives to enhance the overall safety culture of the organization.

Qualification

Technical Graduation [BE, B.Tech, B.Sc.]

Safety Training / Certification / Diploma.

Experience working in in projects as Safety Officer.
