Robotics Engineer – Control Systems (Laser Weeding Robots)

Requirements:

• Design and implement 

  high-precision gimbal & motor control systems

   for real-time laser targeting.
• Develop 

  robust BLDC motor control algorithms

   (microsecond precision).
• Integrate with the 

  AI & perception team

   to connect weed detection with precision actuation.
• Build 

  sensor fusion pipelines

   combining IMU, GNSS, RTK, odometry, and custom sensors.
• Test and tune control systems in 

  real-world field conditions

   (dust, heat, vibrations, uneven terrain).
• Scale your work to 

  multi-laser, multi-unit robotic platforms

   for agriculture.
• Implement 

  safety mechanisms, redundancy, and fail-safe protocols

   for field deployment.
• Collaborate with 

  mechanical engineers

   to integrate actuators, gimbals, and hardware subsystems.

Qualifications:

• Experience with 

  BLDC motor control

   and precision positioning systems.
• Strong knowledge of 

  control theory (PID, adaptive control, state-space)

  .
• Hands-on programming in 

  C++/Python

   on embedded systems.
• Experience with 

  ROS/ROS2

   and communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet).
• Comfort working at the intersection of 

  hardware + software + field testing

  .

Preferred

• Experience in 

  agricultural robotics, precision agriculture, or outdoor robotics

  .
• Knowledge of 

  laser systems and safety standards

  .
• Exposure to 

  machine learning integration in control systems

  .
• Experience with 

  hardware-in-the-loop testing

   or ruggedized system design.
