Mechanical Engineering Intern

Responsibilities

• Design and develop 

  mechanical systems

   including gimbals, sensor mounts, and structural assemblies.
• Create and integrate 

  mounts and enclosures

   for electronics, cameras, and laser modules.
• Design and analyze 

  thermal systems

   for high-power laser and electronics cooling.
• Run 

  mechanical and thermal simulations (FEA/CFD)

   to validate designs.
• Participate in 

  rapid prototyping

   using 3D printing, laser cutting, and machining.
• Assist in 

  tooling, jigs, and fixture design

   for assembly and testing.
• Support 

  robot assembly, integration, and field testing

   activities.
• Work with 

  vendors and fabricators

   for manufacturing, machining, and component sourcing.
• Maintain 

  documentation, BOMs, and design revisions

  .

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a 

  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering

  .
• Strong fundamentals in 

  mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes

  .
• Proficiency in 

  CAD software

   (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or CATIA).
• Basic understanding of 

  tolerances, GD&T, and mechanical assembly principles

  .
• Hands-on experience with 

  3D printing, machining, or fabrication tools

  .
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced hardware environment.
• Enthusiasm for 

  robotics, prototyping, and solving real-world problems

  .

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing 

  gimbal or optomechanical systems

  .
• Exposure to 

  IP-rated enclosures

  , 

  vibration isolation

  , or 

  structural design

  .
• Familiarity with 

  FEA tools

   (ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, or similar).
• Knowledge of 

  thermal management

   and 

  cooling system design

  .
• Exposure to 

  agriculture machinery

  , 

  robotics

  , or 

  industrial design

   projects.
