DEPARTMENT : Revenue Management

RESPONSIBLE TO : General Manager (s)

SUMMARY : To be responsible for revenue management and evolve processes to allow the hotel to forecast supply and demand and adjust their strategies accordingly. He would be required to play an integral role in determining the size of group blocks, group cutoff dates, preferred arrival / departure patterns, reservation restrictions.

POSITION OUTLINE:

Job responsibilities

Ensuring effective utilisation of room inventory with effective forecasting (Daily, weekly & monthly).

Market segment analysis, monitoring competitor performance, effective selling of local promotions & packages by Reservation Agents.

Set clear sales strategy for various demand levels, upselling by Front Office, analysis & reporting of Actual Sales Vs Budgeted and Hotel sales Vs Competitors

Train & develop Rooms reservations staff to create an environment for Revenue management.

Distribution channels management including price parity and inventory status on various channels such as hotel PMS, GDS, extranets and CRS.

Maintaining usage of overseas GDS agents & similar databases to support sales effort in pin-pointing sales effort.

Email based updates to all Regional Sales offices for rate guidelines and demand level notifications for business generation.

Designing, creating and implementing revenue management tools to include revenue tracking worksheets and Sales Strategy Calendars;

Overseeing all revenue and inventory management programs including management and direction of reservations sales staff, global distribution systems, alternate distribution systems, website and other distribution partners; this includes pricing and inventory management for all products, packages, unit inventory, and amenities sold through the reservations department.

Research, develop, recommend and implement improved strategies, policies, procedures for maximizing property revenue, including the required tools, training and monitoring of the hotel properties

Play a key role in preparing segment wise revenue budgets for the hotel based on trends and market knowledge.

Responsible for pricing strategy, including corporate pricing grids and dynamic public rates. Must approve all pricing contracts which deviate from pricing grids.

Ensures that LQA and APEX standards are followed

People and Training Related

Ensures that the company policies are adhered to by all the team members in the department

Creates a platform of engagement to keep the team members involved

Provides recognition and appreciation to team members

Coaches and counsels subordinates

Uses Oberoi appraisal system to review the performance

Gives recommendations for the recruitment / increments, promotions and dismissal of the directly reporting staff, within the framework of the Company policy

Ensures career development and succession planning for subordinates based solely on performance

Conducts key trainings for the team for technical skills and ensures that they are fully trained through constant on-the-job training
