Job Description

Job Summary:

The Student Counsellor will work as a team to provide integrated and effective counselling service for the students of the Institution. She will be responsible for self-referrals and referrals from other faculty and staff. Along with Counselling, providing information and assisting the students, parents and faculty members about a wide range of matters such as students' personal problems, academic difficulties and special requirements to be taken care.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Advising the students on their personal problems and helping them to resolve it
• Clarifying pertinent information and discussing the implications toward students’ academic success
• Proactively help all students in the areas of their academic achievement, career and social/emotional development
• Counsel students regarding educational issues such as truancy, study habits, and career planning
• Maintaining professional integrity, confidentiality, respect and sensitivity in advising
• Counsel individuals (students, staff, faculty etc.) to help them understand and overcome personal, social or behavioural problems affecting their educational or vocational situations
• Submission of records or documentations on time

•    Fluency in multiple languages including English, Hindi etc.

•    Listening, assessing, and unbiased thinking skills

•    Rapport-building and problem-solving skills and passion towards profession

•    Self-awareness, multicultural competency & flexibility

•    Should be able to handle all cases with empathy, trust, friendship & patience

•    Therapeutic knowledge in dealing with students is appreciable

•    Professional domain of interaction with colleagues and subordinates

Educational Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Psychology/Applied Psychology/ Counselling Psychology

 Years of Experience: 3 years and above
