The intern will contribute to ongoing research supporting the development of Maharashtra State action plan on climate change (MH SAPCC 2.0) implementation strategies for the public health sector. The role entails understanding Maharashtra's public health priorities, aligning them with global, national, and subnational frameworks on climate change and human health, and developing adaptation strategies for climate-sensitive illnesses in the state. The intern will assist in secondary data collection, data analysis, systematic literature reviews, and in formulating adaptation strategies based on identified priorities.

This position is well-suited for individuals with a strong interest in the climate-health nexus and in advancing research on climate resilience and public health systems. The research intern will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team conducting detailed climate risk assessments and supporting the development of data-driven adaptation strategies tailored to Maharashtra’s public health priorities. Proficiency in spatial analysis tools (such as ArcGIS), quantitative research methods, and prior exposure to public or environmental health research will be considered an added advantage.

In addition to core responsibilities, the intern is expected to demonstrate flexibility and initiative in supporting broader research and policy engagement activities of the team.
