The Opportunity The Research Associate (Level A) will maintain and develop their scholarly research and professional activities through the pursuit of defined projects and contribute towards teaching and learning in the School, The Research Associate position is based at the UNSW Water Research Centre within the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering The role of the Research Associate reports to Professor Richard Stuetz and has nil direct reports, Salary, Level A $91,381 $121,838 per annum + 17% superannuation Full time Fixed-term contract for 3 years Location: Kensington Sydney, Australia About UNSW UNSW isnt like other places youve worked Yes, were a large organisation with a diverse and talented community; a community doing extraordinary things But what makes us different isnt only what we do, its how we do it Together, we are driven to be thoughtful, practical, and purposeful in all we do If you want a career where you can thrive, be challenged and do meaningful work, youre in the right place, Skills & Experience A PhD in Environmental Engineering and relevant work experience in collaborating with industry stakeholders, Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the following research areas: Air quality and treatment Water quality and management Chemical and sensory odorant analysis Data science including bioinformatics and/or machine learning Demonstrated ability to work constructively with practitioners in the Australian water and resource industries, Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research and applied research with limited supervision, Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity, Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships, Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, Experience of and/or preparedness to undertake professional development of teaching practice, Evidence of ability to support and inspire students, Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills, Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students, An understanding of and commitment to UNSWs aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines, Additional details about the specific responsibilities for for people with disability, and access to flexible work options for eligible staff The University reserves the right not to proceed with any appointment,
