Quarles has the opportunity for an experienced Research Analyst to join the firm’s Research & Knowledge Management department. This is a collaborative role supporting the firm’s attorneys and business professionals with legal and business research. This position is part of the Research Services team and reports to the Director of Research & Knowledge Management.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal and business research, analyze findings, and provide concise summaries to requestors.
- Respond to research requests from attorneys and business professionals across the firm.
- Accurately record billable research time in accordance with firm policy.
- Advise attorneys and business professionals on the selection and use of resources.
- Provides training and point-of-need guidance on research resources and best practices.
- Evaluate new and updated research resources to assess potential value to the firm.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborative department initiatives.
- Stay current on research resources, techniques, and industry developments.
- Engage in professional development through training and active involvement in professional associations.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of firm matters and model professionalism, engagement, and high-quality work.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies in the use of resources.
Qualifications
"Who Are You?"
- Bachelor’s degree and MLS required; JD preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of law firm research experience; practical legal experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of various areas of law, including Intellectual Property and Labor & Employment.
- Experience using legal research platforms Westlaw Precision, Lexis+, Bloomberg Law, Practical Guidance, Practical Law, VitalLaw, CourtLink, and business research tools such as D&B Hoovers, S&P Cap IQ, along with other research resources.
- Familiarity with time entry and ticket management systems.
- Ability to work independently, manage and prioritize multiple projects, and adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Team mindset with a commitment to client service and collaboration.

Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience, education and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The range for this position for individuals physically located in San Diego is $75,800 to $106,900 annually.
