Job Title: Regional Sales Manager – Modern Trade

Department: Sales & Distribution
Location: North India
Experience: 8–12 years in FMCG/3-5 Years Modern Trade
Industry Type: FMCG / MT Foods

Role Overview:

The Regional Sales Manager – Modern Trade will be responsible for driving sales through modern trade channels (organized retail, large format stores, key accounts) within the assigned region. The role includes strategy implementation, key account management, team leadership, and achieving volume and revenue targets for Chokhi Dhani’s packaged products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Planning & Execution:
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies for Modern Trade in alignment with national objectives.
  • Drive secondary and tertiary sales through channel partners.
  • Ensure implementation of visibility, activation, and promotion plans across modern trade formats.
  • Key Account Management:
  • Manage relationships with key accounts such as Big Bazaar, Reliance Retail, D-Mart, Spencer’s, More, etc.
  • Negotiate annual trading terms, listing, and promotions.
  • Ensure timely execution of planograms, end caps, and in-store branding.
  • Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor Territory Sales Officers / Executives and Merchandisers in the region.
  • Set performance goals and ensure high productivity.
  • Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination:
  • Liaise with the supply chain team for stock planning, replenishment, and distribution across MT partners.
  • Monitor stock levels at store and warehouse level to avoid OOS (out of stock) or overstocking.
  • Market Intelligence:
  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and promotions.
  • Share actionable insights with the national team for timely decisions.
  • Reporting & MIS:
  • Regularly update sales data, forecasts, and ROI from promotions.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly reports and present to leadership.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • MBA in Sales/Marketing or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven track record in Modern Trade sales (FMCG/Food/Beverage).
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in launching and scaling new products.
  • Working knowledge of distributor management systems and modern retail dynamics.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹70,033.30 - ₹90,028.75 per month
