Job Description

The

EU REACH Coordinator

is responsible for ensuring compliance with the

EU REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals)

regulation. This role involves managing registration, documentation, and compliance processes for chemical substances used in the company s products. The coordinator will work closely with regulatory authorities, internal departments, and external partners to ensure all chemical substances meet required safety and compliance standards.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

 

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure the company s compliance with EU REACH regulations by managing registration, evaluation, and authorization processes.
  • Monitor REACH regulatory updates and communicate changes to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update the company s chemical inventory in line with REACH requirements, ensuring imported quantities correspond to the registered tonnage band.
  • Complete UFI and PCN registrations as required for any European site.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare and submit registration dossiers to the

    European Chemicals Agency (ECHA)

    in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and updated records of all REACH-related documentation, including

    Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

    and

    Chemical Safety Reports (CSR)

    .
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather data and ensure completeness and compliance of submissions.

Substance Management

  • Collaborate with suppliers to obtain necessary data on chemical substances and ensure their compliance with REACH.
  • Manage the company s

    SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern)

    list and communicate associated risks and safety measures.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and other external partners to stay informed on REACH developments.
  • Work with R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure compliance of all substances.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on REACH compliance topics.

Risk Management

  • Conduct risk assessments for chemical substances used within company operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize non-compliance risks.
  • Manage and respond to compliance concerns or inquiries from regulatory bodies.

Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor and evaluate REACH compliance programs and recommend improvements.
  • Stay updated on new industry trends and regulatory best practices.
  • Lead initiatives to strengthen chemical management and compliance standards.

Professional Development & Collaboration

  • Maintain a high degree of personal and professional development through internal and external training.
  • Act as a liaison across departments to ensure consistent communication and alignment in regulatory matters.

Education

  • Bachelor s degree in

    Chemistry, Environmental Science, Regulatory Affairs

    , or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of

    3 years experience

    in regulatory compliance, preferably focused on

    EU REACH regulations

    .
  • In-depth understanding of

    chemical safety standards

    and registration processes.
  • Experience with

    chemical documentation, risk assessments

    , and

    ECHA submissions

    .

Functional/Technical Competencies & Skillsets

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional and external teams.
  • Proficient in

    regulatory compliance software

    Microsoft Office Suite
