Job Title: Quality Engineer – Sheet Metal Industry

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team in the sheet metal manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will ensure that products meet internal and customer quality standards, drive continuous improvement, and support production teams in quality-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems in a sheet metal fabrication environment.
• Conduct inspections of incoming raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities for quality issues.
• Monitor and analyze production processes for compliance with standards and specifications.
• Create and maintain quality documentation including control plans, inspection procedures, and work instructions.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure manufacturability and quality of new product introductions.
• Participate in internal and external audits (ISO 9001, customer audits, etc.).
• Analyze non-conformance reports (NCRs) and recommend process improvements.
• Ensure measuring equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
• Train and guide quality inspectors and shop floor personnel on quality standards and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance within a sheet metal or precision manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal processes (cutting, bending, welding, finishing, etc.).
• Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001.
• Familiar with GD&T, SPC, FMEA, PPAP, and control plans.
• Proficiency with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, CMMs).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and ERP software is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
