Job Description

Job Purpose:

To ensure that all finished goods (FG) meet company quality standards and customer specifications before dispatch. The PDI Quality Inspector is responsible for carrying out final quality checks, functional testing, cosmetic inspection, and verification of packaging/documentation to guarantee defect-free delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inspection & Testing

    • Perform detailed

      visual and functional inspections

      of finished electronic products before shipment.
    • Verify compliance with

      technical specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements

      .
    • Conduct operational tests (power on/off, performance tests, safety checks, firmware verification).
    • Check for cosmetic defects (scratches, dents, alignment, labelling accuracy).
  2. Documentation & Reporting

    • Maintain accurate inspection records, checklists, and test reports.
    • Record non-conformances and escalate issues to the Quality Manager.
    • Ensure all

      compliance certificates, manuals, warranty cards, and accessories

      are included in the packaging.
  3. Coordination & Follow-Up

    • Work closely with

      production, PPC, quality, service, and logistics teams

      to address identified issues before shipment. Follow up on rework and re-inspection activities to ensure product readiness.
  4. Process Compliance

    • Adhere to

      ISO, IPC, or other relevant quality standards

      for applicable for the product.
    • Ensure compliance with

      ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety protocols

      during inspection.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback to the manufacturing and design teams.
  5. Tools & Equipment Handling

    • Use inspection tools such as

      multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generators, thermal cameras

      etc., as required.
    • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of test equipment.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of

    electronics testing and troubleshooting

    .
  • Familiarity with

    quality inspection procedures

    for electronics.
  • Attention to detail and ability to

    spot minor defects

    .
  • Good understanding of

    schematics, assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams

    .
  • Good understanding of delivery orders raised for dispatch for sales & service.
  • Proficiency in using testing tools and inspection checklists.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple inspections.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma / B.Tech

    in Electronics, Electrical, or related field.
  • 2-5 years

    of experience in electronics quality inspection or testing.
  • Knowledge of

    ISO 9001, IPC-A-610, and safety regulations

    preferred.
  • Experience in

    PDI for consumer electronics, industrial electronics, or embedded devices

    is an advantage.

Work Conditions:

  • Factory or store environment.
  • May require extended working hours during peak dispatch schedules.
  • Standing and handling products for long periods.
