The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that every mattress manufactured meets defined quality standards for materials, construction, safety, and appearance. The role involves routine inspections, accurate documentation, and strict adherence to established quality procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, hands-on inspection skills, and the ability to identify defects early to prevent rework and maintain consistent production quality.
• Inspect raw materials, in-process mattresses, and finished goods for compliance with
approved specifications (dimensions, hardness, fabric quality, stitching, labelling).
• Verify workmanship, structural integrity, and overall finish at every stage of production.
• Identify defects and immediately communicate deviations to production supervisors.
• Use established QC checklists, SOPs, and specification sheets for all inspections.
• Record inspection findings accurately and maintain daily QC logs.
• Ensure all documentation is complete, updated, and submitted on time.
• Flag defective products; isolate and tag non-conforming items.
• Support root-cause investigations and provide clear defect reports with photographs
and measurements.
• Follow corrective action protocols as instructed by the QC Manager.
• Work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues in real time.
• Communicate recurring defects or process deviations promptly to the QC Manager.
• Support quality audits and assist in sample testing as required.
• Use measurement tools (tape measures, callipers, load testers) correctly and safely.
• Ensure proper handling and maintenance of QC tools and testing equipment.
• Follow all safety standards and maintain a clean inspection area.
• Diploma/ITI in Mechanical, Production, Textile, or related field.
• 2–4 years of QC experience in manufacturing; bedding/furniture/foam industry
preferred.
• Knowledge of basic quality inspection methods and measurement tools.
• Ability to read simple technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-identification skills.
• Basic computer skills for logging reports (Excel/ERP/QC software).
• Ability to work on feet for extended periods and lift samples up to 25–30 kg.
• Reports to: Quality Control Manager
• Works closely with: Production Supervisors, Cutting, Quilting, Assembly, Packing Teams
• Must be flexible for overtime or shift adjustments when required.
