About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Lead QA Engineer to drive quality initiatives across our web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in manual and automation testing, leadership skills to guide the QA team, Project management, client Management, Stakeholders management and proficiency in modern test automation frameworks and tools.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, ensuring delivery of high-quality releases.
• Define and implement test strategies for manual, automation, web, and mobile testing.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, and Cucumber (BDD).
• Oversee end-to-end testing including functional, regression, performance, cross-browser, and cross-platform validation.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to ensure test coverage across requirements.
• Design and review detailed test plans, test cases, and automation scripts.
• Implement CI/CD integration for automated test execution and reporting.
• Manage defect lifecycle – from logging and prioritization to closure with root cause analysis.
• Drive best practices in QA including code reviews, reusable automation components, and continuous improvement.
• Stay up to date with the latest QA tools, frameworks, and industry trends.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in software testing with at least 2+ years in a lead/mentorship role.
• Strong expertise in manual testing and solid understanding of SDLC & STLC.
• Hands-on experience in automation with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Proficiency with Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber, and BDD frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of web and mobile application testing (iOS & Android).
• Experience with API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured, etc.).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, k6, etc.).
• Cloud-based test execution platforms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, etc.).
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and defect tracking tools (Jira, Azure DevOps).
