QC Engineer

Job Title: QC Engineer Location: Atlas Transformers India Limited (Por, GIDC) Experience Preferred : 1 Year in Dry Type Transformers Job Summary: We are looking for a meticulous and experienced QC Engineer to oversee quality inspection and testing in the manufacturing of dry type transformers . The candidate will be responsible for ensuring products meet industry standards and customer requirements by implementing strict quality controls at every stage of production. Key Responsibilities:1. Incoming Material Inspection: Inspect and verify quality of incoming raw materials like copper/aluminum conductors, core laminations, insulation materials, resin, etc. Ensure supplier compliance with material specifications and standards. 2. In-Process Quality Control: Monitor and inspect critical stages like coil winding, core assembly, vacuum resin casting, curing, and final assembly. Identify deviations in workmanship or materials and take corrective actions. Ensure compliance with IEC, IS, ANSI, and company-specific standards. 3. Final Inspection & Testing: Perform final routine tests such as: Insulation Resistance (IR) Turns Ratio Test No-load & Short-circuit Test Partial Discharge Test Temperature Rise Test (if applicable) Prepare and verify test reports and ensure traceability. 4. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain all inspection records, test reports, and quality documentation. Prepare quality audit and NCR (Non-Conformance Report) documentation. Support ISO 9001 and other audits (internal and external). 5. Continuous Improvement: Work with cross-functional teams to analyze recurring quality issues. Recommend process or material improvements to enhance transformer reliability and reduce defects. 6. Customer Interaction: Coordinate with clients or third-party inspectors during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT). Address customer complaints through root cause analysis and corrective actions. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 2–5 years of experience in quality control within the transformer industry, especially dry type transformers. Familiarity with relevant standards (IEC 60076-11, IS 11171, etc.) Knowledge of transformer testing equipment and procedures. Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical and inspection skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication skills (oral and written). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Proficiency in MS Office, and ERP/QMS systems.
