QA/QC Engineer

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality systems, addressing customer complaints, conducting root cause analysis, and leading quality improvement activities across the production line. The role ensures compliance with IATF 16949 standards and supports the development and execution of PPAP, FMEA, CAPA, and internal audits. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and improve product and process quality throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. Lead and support PPAP preparation, APQP activities, and control plan implementation. Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for internal and customer complaints. Interface with customers for quality issues, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. Prepare and maintain documents as per IATF 16949 requirements (e.g., FMEA, SPC, MSA). Lead internal audits, support external audits (customer, IATF), and track closure of NCRs. Monitor in-process inspection reports, rejection analysis, and implement quality improvements. Conduct training of shop floor personnel on quality standards, SOPs, and visual inspection criteria. Work cross-functionally with Production, Maintenance, and R&D teams to ensure quality compliance. Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, or Industrial Engineering. 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in quality functions in an automotive components manufacturing setup. Strong understanding of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA). Proficient in problem-solving tools such as 7QC tools, 8D, Why-Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, etc. Good knowledge of measurement systems, GD&T, and interpretation of engineering drawings. Hands-on experience with tools like micrometers, calipers, CMM, height gauges, and gauges. Strong documentation, communication, and analytical skills. Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and quality software. Preferred: Exposure to customer audits (OEM/Tier-1). Experience in forging, casting, machining, or plastic components. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma concepts.
