Role Overview: Ciena is seeking an experienced and talented individual to advance next-generation IP routing/MPLS capabilities. As a Solution Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering innovative solutions to meet demanding performance, scalability, and feature requirements for service provider and carrier-grade networks. Your responsibilities will include reviewing system requirements, developing comprehensive test plans, building test environments, analyzing test results, developing automation scripts, and conducting knowledge-sharing sessions. Key Responsibilities: - Review system requirements & functional specifications and develop comprehensive solution test plans - Plan and build test environments for feature and solution level test execution - Analyze test results, file defect reports, and retest defect resolution - Develop automation scripts using Automation Framework to validate NE features - Validate Network element across different NBIs (CLI, Netconf, Rest) and NMS - Conduct knowledge sharing sessions on moderate to complex topics Qualification Required: - Sound knowledge of IP, MPLS technologies & Ethernet for routing and switching networks - Knowledge of Segment Routing, BGP, BGP-PIC & BGP attributes - MPLS protocols including IS-IS, LDP, RSVPTE, MPLS-TP & Segment Routing - Good understanding of L2 protocols (e.g. LLDP, LACP, CFM, Y.1731 & EVPN Service Models) - Knowledge of Traffic Engineering- Hierarchical QoS, WRED, WRR, WFQ etc - Highly skilled in Automation to write automation scripts using Automation Framework using Python - Working knowledge with Ixia/Spirent traffic generators with advanced packet protocols - Hands-on experience working with Telecom network routing & Switching devices along with network simulators - BE /B.
