QA Lead Engineer

As a Solution Test Engineer at Ciena, you will contribute by leveraging your experience and skills in advanced Routing and MPLS features to deliver innovative solutions in next-generation IP routing/MPLS capabilities. Your role will involve: - Taking on an influential role in advancing IP routing/MPLS capabilities for service provider, carrier-grade requirements, focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability. - Working on highly complex systems with fabric-based multi-line card hybrid architecture to support high-availability and carrier-grade scale and performance. - Developing comprehensive solution test plans based on system requirements and functional specifications to validate customer use-cases. - Planning and setting up test environments for feature and solution level test execution, analyzing test results, filing defect reports, and retesting defect resolution. - Actively developing automation scripts using Automation Framework to validate NE features and identify quality issues. - Validating Network elements across different NBIs (CLI, Netconf, Rest) and NMS. - Conducting knowledge sharing sessions on moderate to complex topics, including protocol-related information and specific functional area presentations. Key Qualifications required for this role include: - Sound knowledge of IP, MPLS technologies, and Ethernet for routing and switching networks. - Familiarity with Segment Routing, BGP, BGP-PIC, BGP attributes, MPLS protocols (IS-IS, LDP, RSVPTE, MPLS-TP, Segment Routing), and associated protection switching mechanisms. - Understanding of IP-Access and IP-VPN service design, L2 protocols, Traffic Engineering, and automation scripting using Python. - Experience with Ixia/Spirent traffic generators, network simulators, and troubleshooting skills. - Strong interpersonal skills, customer focus, self-initiative, commitment to product excellence, multitasking ability, and excellent communication skills.
