You are a highly experienced Senior C++ Developer specializing in embedded software development for Layer 2 (L2) switches, specifically on Broadcom platforms. Your role will involve hands-on tasks such as switch configuration, protocol implementation, performance tuning, and collaborating with various teams within a high-performance networking environment. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining embedded software for L2 switching on Broadcom switch platforms. You will configure switches to support networking features like VLANs, VxLANs, NAT, and other Layer 2 protocols. Additionally, you will implement packet inspection and filtering rules to enhance security and optimize traffic. Collaborating closely with Broadcom SDKs and APIs for platform-specific development and optimizations will also be a key aspect of your role. Furthermore, you will work with hardware engineers, network architects, and QA teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment. Your tasks will also involve optimizing embedded switch performance by identifying bottlenecks and implementing enhancements. Troubleshooting and debugging complex switch issues will be part of your routine, along with thorough documentation of switch configuration, protocols, and development processes. Your must-have qualifications include expertise in C++ programming, extensive experience with Broadcom switch platforms and SDKs, a strong understanding of L2 protocols, network security principles, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills. Good documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential. Desirable qualifications for this role include experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers, exposure to system integration and bring-up activities, familiarity with ASIC-level programming and hardware/software integration, understanding of real-time constraints in embedded networking systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams across different time zones and regions.
