Job Title: QA Head
Location: Ludhiana, Punjab
Salary Range: ₹35,000 – ₹45,000 per month
Qualification: Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Role Overview
The QA Head will be responsible for defining, implementing, and sustaining quality standards and systems across the organization. The role requires strong knowledge of quality tools, manufacturing processes, and customer quality expectations. The candidate will ensure product quality from raw material to final output, manage certifications, lead audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with global standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Standards & System Development
- Define quality standards and systems as per industry benchmarks and customer specifications.
- Collaborate with certification agencies to obtain required certifications for products to compete in global markets.
- Provide technical inputs to enhance product quality at various stages of production and design.
Supplier Quality & Raw Material Processes
- Establish quality parameters and processes for suppliers, ensuring procurement of high-quality raw material.
- Standardize manufacturing process requirements based on customer and global quality expectations.
In-Process & Final Quality Assurance
- Develop in-process inspection standards by studying manufacturing and testing methods.
- Create rework standards using inspection and physical testing procedures.
- Implement quality measurement systems such as COPQ to minimize warranty returns and improve product reliability.
- Drive the use of 7 QC tools, 5S, and TQM pillars to uplift global quality standards.
Quality Audits & Compliance
- Lead ISO and other certification compliance initiatives across production and quality functions.
- Conduct regular audits of manufacturing processes, identify gaps, and drive improvement plans (Kaizens) within timelines.
- Prepare and analyze quality reports using statistical tools to identify trends and take corrective action.
Shop Floor Quality Control
- Execute defined QA processes and ensure adherence to customer quality standards.
- Reduce on-floor rejections and rework to improve productivity and reduce per-unit cost.
- Report malfunctions or non-compliances to Production Managers for immediate corrective action.
- Implement PPM and FTR models on the shop floor, set targets, and monitor results.
Customer Quality Management
- Understand customer quality issues and ensure resolution within defined SLAs.
- Visit customer facilities to assess quality expectations and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure corrective actions for customer complaints are executed promptly to prevent recurrence.
- Build strong customer relationships to reduce escalations and improve customer satisfaction indices.
Team Leadership & People Development
- Define performance targets for the QA team and provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Lead, motivate, and develop team members; nurture capabilities for future roles and responsibilities.
- Build and sustain an engaged, motivated, and high-performing quality workforce.
- Work with HR for adherence to organizational policies and support departmental initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in QA or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality tools (7 QC tools, 5S, TQM).
- Experience in ISO systems, audits, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Good analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functionally and lead a team effectively.
