Job Description

Location: Bhopal
Reports To: Construction Director / Senior Project Manager
Experience: 2-4 Years
Salary: 30,000 – 50,000/-

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Purchase Manager (Construction Line) to manage end-to-end procurement activities for construction projects. This role involves sourcing materials, negotiating with vendors, ensuring timely delivery, maintaining cost efficiency, and supporting project execution through effective purchase planning. The ideal candidate will have strong market knowledge, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage procurement operations aligned with project timelines and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:Procurement Planning & Strategy

  • Develop and implement purchase plans aligned with project requirements.
  • Forecast material needs in coordination with Project Managers and site teams.
  • Maintain and update vendor databases, price lists, and material specifications.

Vendor Management & Negotiation

  • Identify, evaluate, and finalize reliable suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings.
  • Build long-term relationships with vendors to ensure consistent material supply.

Material Purchasing & Coordination

  • Issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites.
  • Track material availability and resolve supply chain delays.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, stores, and accounts teams for smooth operations.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure purchased materials meet required quality standards and project specifications.
  • Verify compliance with company policies, safety guidelines, and industry standards.
  • Handle non-conformance issues and coordinate material replacements when required.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, vendor contracts, and price comparisons.
  • Monitor purchase budgets and provide regular procurement reports.
  • Assist in audits by maintaining proper documentation and vendor communication records.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering with strong procurement experience (acceptable).
  • Certification in Material Management / Procurement / Supply Chain (added advantage).
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, market rates, and vendor networks.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and procurement software.
