Role Overview

Purchase Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Development

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard manufacturers and suppliers for lighting and electrical products.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure continuous supply and competitive pricing.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on product trends, pricing, and availability.

2. Procurement & Coordination

  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes including RFQs, purchase orders, delivery timelines, and logistics coordination.
  • Ensure timely procurement aligned with business requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams across India/Nepal to meet supply planning needs.

3. Quality Control & Compliance

  • Conduct product inspections and ensure adherence to required technical and quality standards.
  • Work closely with suppliers on product improvements and rectification of defects.
  • Monitor compliance with export and regulatory standards as needed.

4. Cost & Data Management

  • Negotiate cost structures and payment terms for best commercial advantage.
  • Maintain procurement MIS, pricing records, and vendor performance evaluations.
  • Analyze cost savings, forecasting, and periodic reporting.

5. Documentation & Communication

  • Prepare accurate documentation including POs, GRNs, vendor agreements, and export-related paperwork.
  • Communicate professionally over email and maintain clear documentation trails.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-6years of experience in procurement or sourcing, preferably in lighting/electrical industry.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Working knowledge of lighting products, components, and technical specifications (preferred).
  • Proficiency in

    MS Excel, Word, Email communication

    , and ERP systems.
  • Ability to conduct quality checks and understand product standards.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel to manufacturers, trade fairs, and vendor sites when necessary.
