Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Procurement Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for medical equipment, surgical consumables, pharmaceuticals, and general hospital supplies. Ensure timely procurement based on requisition and stock levels. Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness. Inventory Coordination: Coordinate with the stores department to monitor inventory and avoid stockouts or overstocking. Forecast procurement needs based on usage trends and hospital requirements. Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships. Evaluate supplier performance regularly in terms of quality, delivery, and service. Ensure vendors are compliant with regulatory standards (e.g., NABH, FDA). Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, delivery notes, and approvals. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procurement protocols, and statutory regulations. Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with the finance team for budgetary approvals and timely payments. Liaise with medical, nursing, and administrative departments for understanding purchase needs. Quality Assurance: Ensure procurement of high-quality materials with appropriate certifications. Handle vendor audits and participate in quality assurance committees if required. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. (MBA or diploma in Hospital Management/Materials Management is a plus.) 5–10 years of relevant experience in healthcare or hospital procurement. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Knowledge of medical equipment, drugs, and hospital supply chain. Proficient in ERP systems and MS Office tools. Familiarity with NABH standards and hospital procurement guidelines.
