Purchase Manager

Objective

To lead and manage end-to-end procurement operations, ensuring cost-effective sourcing, timely availability of materials, strong vendor partnerships, and alignment with production and business objectives.

Qualification

• B.E. Mechanical / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME)

Experience

• 8-10 years

  of experience in procurement and supply chain management
• Preferably from

  Powder Coating / Engineering / Manufacturing Industry

• Inventory planning and material forecasting
• Import/export coordination, customs and logistics
• ERP / procurement systems knowledge

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Plan and manage procurement activities based on production schedules, inventory levels, market trends, and customer demand.
2. Handle local and international sourcing including vendor negotiations, cost analysis, and finalization of purchase contracts.
3. Lead preparation and approval of purchase orders in line with budgets and authority limits.
4. Collaborate with Production, Planning, Engineering, and Finance teams for demand forecasting and procurement planning.
5. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and contracts to optimize cost and cash flow.
6. Develop, evaluate, and strengthen supplier base for quality, cost, and delivery performance.
7. Oversee inventory control to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
8. Manage imports, customs clearance, clearing agents, and logistics partners.
9. Monitor procurement spend, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure budget compliance.
10. Lead vendor development, audits, and performance reviews.
11. Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and statutory regulations.
12. Guide and mentor the purchase team for performance improvement.
