Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective purchasing and sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage end-to-end purchasing operations, including daily activities, task allocation, and supervision of the purchase team.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships; negotiate contracts, pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
  • Oversee supplier database management, purchase records, contracts, invoices, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with inventory control and planning teams to forecast demand and manage optimal inventory levels.
  • Monitor inventory usage trends and adjust purchasing plans accordingly to avoid shortages or excess stock.
  • Ensure all procured materials, equipment, and services meet required quality standards and technical specifications.
  • Manage procurement budgets, prepare cost estimates, and support cost-control initiatives.
  • Oversee maintenance procurement for office, manufacturing equipment, and machinery.
  • Improve purchasing systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Process supplier invoices and payments in coordination with finance teams.
  • Train and onboard new team members on purchasing procedures, systems, and best practices.
  • Oversee supply chain activities to ensure timely availability of materials, even under tight deadlines.
  • Track and evaluate purchase team KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Maintain a strong professional supplier network to identify new sourcing opportunities and competitive deals.
  • Attend internal meetings to stay aligned with company objectives and external conferences to stay updated on industry trends.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Proven experience in purchasing or procurement management
  • Strong knowledge of inventory and supply chain operations
  • Experience in team supervision and vendor negotiations
  • Proficient in MS Office and purchasing / ERP systems
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Strong planning, organization, and independent working ability
