Job Description

A Purchase Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement of raw materials, components, and equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality while adhering to company standards. They are also involved in vendor management, contract negotiation, and process improvement. Key Responsibilities: Must have a good knowledge in fabrication & sheet metal components Sourcing and Procurement: Identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and issuing purchase orders. Vendor Management: Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, monitoring performance, and addressing issues. Cost Analysis and Negotiation: Analyzing market prices, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring cost-effectiveness. Quality Assurance: Evaluating materials, ensuring they meet specifications, and managing inventory levels. Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing improvements in procurement processes to optimize efficiency. Collaboration: Working with engineering, project, and other internal teams to understand needs and meet requirements. Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of procurement activities and inventory levels. Industry Research: Staying informed about industry trends and potential suppliers. Legal Compliance: Ensuring that all procurement activities adhere to relevant laws and regulations. Skills and Knowledge: Strong Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate contracts and secure favorable terms. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze market data and evaluate supplier performance. Technical Knowledge: Understanding of materials, equipment, and manufacturing processes. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams. Problem-solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to procurement. Software Proficiency: Familiarity with procurement software and systems. Knowledge of Purchasing Policies and Procedures: Understanding of company policies and procedures related to procurement. Understanding of Project Management: Knowledge of project management methodologies and timelines.
