Position Overview The Purchase Engineer will be responsible for managing procurement and estimation activities related to fire installation projects. The role involves sourcing materials, negotiating with vendors, ensuring timely deliveries, and supporting estimation teams with cost inputs for tenders and ongoing projects. Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Sourcing Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for fire protection equipment and materials such as pipes, fittings, valves, pumps, sprinklers, and fire alarm components. Float inquiries, obtain and compare supplier quotations, and prepare technical-commercial comparisons . Negotiate rates, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve the best value. Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) as per company policies. Track purchase orders, ensure on-time material delivery, and resolve supply or quality issues. Coordinate with stores and site teams for material receipts and shortages. Estimation & Costing Support Support estimation team in preparing cost sheets and BOQs for tenders. Collect and update material prices, vendor lists, and rate databases. Provide timely cost data to project engineers for budgetary proposals and value engineering. Vendor & Documentation Management Maintain an updated database of suppliers and manufacturers of approved fire protection materials. Prepare and maintain procurement reports, comparison sheets, and purchase records. Ensure all materials comply with relevant standards (IS/NFPA/UL/FM approved). Coordination Liaise closely with project, design, and accounts teams for material planning, approvals, and payments. Assist in resolving technical and commercial queries with vendors.
