Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Engineer to manage procurement activities for our small manufacturing firm. The ideal candidate will handle sourcing, vendor negotiations, and purchasing of raw materials and components essential for production. This role requires ensuring timely procurement, cost efficiency, and quality standards to support smooth manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities:Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors. Issue purchase requisitions, understand technical specifications, and negotiate prices. Analyze market trends to ensure cost-effective procurement. Maintain supplier relationships and ensure timely delivery of materials. Follow up on order status and coordinate with the production team for delivery schedules. Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and supplier performance. Ensure quality standards and compliance are maintained in all procurement activities. Support inventory management and stock optimization. Skills and Qualifications:Proven experience in procurement or purchase planning, preferably in manufacturing. Basic technical understanding of manufacturing processes/materials. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Good organizational and records-keeping abilities. Proficiency in MS Office and purchase management software.
