Purpose:
The basic purpose of this position is to design a process and plan to achieve results in line with new projects targets or
section policy targets. A planning Engineer has to be strong in process proving and documentation and should be technically
well equipped in being able to take decision on technical matters like choosing Material Handling & Logistics Facilities inline
with P,Q,C,D,M,S Benefits. He / She should be able to guide process proving engineers.
Role Description
1.Conduct & Update PFMEA and identify process controls for Material Handling systems
2. Set Manufacturing process targets – The Targets should be inline with project targets and also should be aspirational to signify continual improvement
3. Prepare Material Handling systems Project plans with complete facility planning and layout planning for new projects / ECR’s, prepare Total cost of Buying etc.
4. Preparation of Functional process Design Review for New projects and Capacity Enhancement projects
5. Selection of Material Handling systems (Like Vertical storage,ASRS,Overhead conveyor systems) through complete Techno commercial evaluation and Equipment note preparation and approval with all interfacing stake holders
6.Ensure Purchase order release, Design approval with supplier, Equipment trials at supplier end with proving engineer and clearance for dispatch after checking compliance to equipment note / conditions as mutually agreed upon
7.Monitor Alpha, Beta, and QP Manufacturing and achievement of results as per set Manufacturing process Targets and identify corrective actions and plans for nonahievement
8.Support in Analysing & resolving existing line problems, Train operators and module controller if required
9.Conduct Process cell audits / Process plant audits, give feedback with correction methods, Assist GL in audits & Reviews, support and Train proving engineers
10.Inbound Logistics - Finalise Inbound Containerisation with all stakeholders as per Standard & Sign off
1.1. Define Containerization standards for Inbound
containerisation/packaging
1.2. Discuss with Central Purchase team and receive Containerization
proposal from Suppliers for Bought Out parts.
1.3. Evaluate Containerization proposals provided by BO parts Suppliers and
provide feedback/approval based on defined standards
1.4. Sign off finalized containerisation for BO parts
1.5. Audit receipt of parts in the agreed Containerisation
11.Inhouse Logistics
1.1. Prepare Budget estimate for NPD based on Volume requirement &
exclusive parts details provided by Projects team
1.2. Create MHF design with the team for new MIW parts
1.3. Check & approve new MHF designs with MHF design checklist
1.4. Sample approval of new MHF with stakeholders
1.5. Raise PR for bulk manufacturing
1.6. Receipt & Handover of MHF
12.Identify & Implement Material Transfer System Projects eg. Transfer Conveyors, Automated Guided Vehicles, etc.
1.1. Identify material transfer requirements in Plant
1.2. Prepare proposals based on available technologies
1.3. Evaluate proposal based on PQCDSM.
1.4. Prepare SRS and share with Suppliers
1.5. Discuss & finalize detailed designs with Suppliers
1.6. Prepare Project activity plan & review with stakeholders
1.7. Raise PR
1.8. Receipt & Installation of facilities
1.9. EJO & trials
1.10 Handover of facilities
13.Identify & Implement Storage System Projects like Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems (ASRS), Very Narrow Aisle Racking Systems, etc
1.1 Identify Storage System requirements in Plant
1.2 Prepare proposals based on available technologies
1.3 Evaluate proposal based on PQCDSM.
1.4 Prepare SRS and share with Suppliers
1.5 Discuss & finalize detailed designs with Suppliers
1.6 Prepare Project activity plan & review with stakeholders
1.7 Raise PR
1.8 Receipt & Installation of facilities
1.9 EJO & trials
1.10Handover of facilities
14. Identify the Automation & Technology projects in specifically to convert the manual to Auto process for process optimization with Digitialization
Requirements
Diploma - Min 10 years experience ( Expert in MHS & Logistics)
BE - Min.5 to 7 Years experience ( Expert in MHS & Logistics)
PGE - Min. 5 yrs experience & Above ( Any specialization in Supply chain management & Logistics)
