Project Manager & Operations Leader

IsvaraTech is a start-up aiming to build the next-generation CNC microfactory in Bengaluru and serve global customers in aerospace, defense, medical device, and high-precision prototyping. We are looking for a highly capable Project Manager & Operations Lead who can act as the founding on-ground leader in India during the setup phase.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in factory/plant establishment, end-to-end operations setup, management across vendors, OEMs, regulatory bodies, and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Factory Set-Up:

• Oversee facility setup (3,000–5,000 sq. ft.) including securing rental facility
• Manage end-to-end setup including layout readiness, utilities, power upgrades (60–80 kVA/machine), water treatment certification, fire & safety approvals.

2. Regulatory, Licensing & Compliance Oversight:

• Coordinate all statutory approvals required to operationalize a CNC machining unit in Bengaluru.
• Work with liaison officers, safety agencies, and inspection authorities to ensure timely compliance.

3. CNC Machinery & Technical Procurement:

• Interface with top CNC OEMs to evaluate, negotiate, and finalize machine procurement.
• Oversee installation planning, commissioning schedules, and feasibility assessments for machining, QC, and tooling requirements.

4. Quality Systems Foundation:

• Set up the groundwork for ISO 9001, AS9100D, and ISO 13485 documentation and manage certification processes. 
• Ensure early processes, templates, and controls are structured for future audits.

5. Vendor, Supply Chain & Ecosystem Development:

• Identify and onboard key vendors across civil works, utilities, materials, logistics, and special processes.
• Establish the supplier ecosystem required for aerospace/defense/MIM prototyping work.

6. Operations Readiness:

• Support in recruitment of operators, QC technicians, and maintenance personnel.
• Ensure the factory is prepared for machine delivery, operator onboarding, and pilot production runs.

Candidate Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, CNC machining, plant setup, or industrial project management.
• Proven track record in establishing new facilities or production lines.
• Strong working knowledge of CNC machining centers (3/4/5 axis), turning, mill-turn systems, and precision QC workflows.
• Experience collaborating with OEMs such as DMG Mori, Haas, Jyoti, Makino, etc.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100D (or similar) quality systems.
• Experience with governmental, regulatory and compliance agencies for industrial permits.
• Deep understanding of Bengaluru’s industrial ecosystem (Peenya, Hoskote, Devanahalli preferred).
• Strong vendor management, negotiation, and budgeting capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills in English + Kannada/Hindi.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related engineering fields.
• Experience with global prototyping platforms (Xometry, Protolabs, Fictiv) is a strong advantage.
• Certifications in PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or QMS are beneficial.
