Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.

Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Role Overview:


We are seeking a skilled and experienced Engineer to lead and support the design, implementation, and maintenance of Gas Monitoring, Gas Leak Detection, and Life Safety Systems within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with gas detectors, integration with FMCS platforms, and a strong understanding of safety protocols in high-tech industrial settings.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Design and configure gas detection systems for semiconductor fabs.
  2. Integrate gas detectors with FMCS and BMS platforms.
  3. Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with life safety standards.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (I&C, Gas, Chemical) for system commissioning.
  5. Troubleshoot and maintain gas monitoring infrastructure.
  6. Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and training materials.
  7. Interface with vendors for product selection, installation, and support.
  8. Commissioning & Start-up activities including:
  • System validation and functional testing
  • Coordination with vendors and contractors during installation
  • Post-installation performance verification
  • Documentation of commissioning protocols and punch list resolution



Required Qualifications:


  1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Instrumentation, Electronics, or related field).
  2. 10 years of experience in gas monitoring life safety systems.
  3. Experience in

    semiconductor fab projects

    is mandatory.
  4. Familiarity with gas detector brands such as Dräger, Riken Keiki, Honeywell etc.
  5. Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, control logic, and system architecture.
  6. Greenfield start-up and commissioning experience in Gas monitoring system.
  7. Experience with cleanroom safety and semiconductor-grade gas systems.



Preferred Qualifications:


  1. Strong understanding of hazardous gas handling and safety protocols
  2. Experience in SCADA and PLC-based control systems
  3. Strong communication and documentation skills
