About the Role

Ganpat University invites applications for the position of Professor of Practice from distinguished professionals who have made remarkable and sustained contributions in their respective fields of practice. This position is intended to bring industry, professional, and societal expertise into the academic ecosystem, thereby strengthening the practice-oriented learning, innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry–academia collaboration at the University.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Professor of Practice shall be expected to perform the following duties in alignment with the University’s academic and institutional objectives:

1. Curriculum Development

• Contribute to the design, development, and revision of courses and curriculum, ensuring alignment with current industry/professional practices and societal needs.

1. Teaching & Academic Delivery

• Introduce and deliver new, practice-oriented courses and lectures as per University norms and academic policies.
• Provide real-world insights and experiential learning to students.

1. Student Mentorship

• Encourage and mentor students in innovation, entrepreneurship, start-up initiatives, consultancy projects, and applied learning activities.
• Guide students in translating ideas into viable projects or enterprises.

1. Industry–Academia Collaboration

• Facilitate and strengthen industry–academia partnerships, including internships, live projects, collaborative programs, and institutional linkages.

1. Workshops & Training Programs

• Conduct, jointly with regular faculty members, workshops, seminars, special lectures, faculty development programs (FDPs), and skill-based training programs.

1. Research, Consultancy & Projects

• Participate in joint research projects, consultancy assignments, and sponsored projects in collaboration with regular faculty members of the concerned academic unit or department.

1. Institutional Contribution

• Contribute to strategic initiatives of the University related to innovation, employability, community engagement, and societal impact, as assigned.

Experience Requirement

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience, preferably at a senior leadership or decision-making level, with proven expertise and significant contributions in the relevant field.

Academic Qualifications

• A formal academic qualification is not mandatory for this position if the candidate demonstrates exemplary professional practice and expertise in lieu of academic credentials.

Reporting & Collaboration

• The Professor of Practice shall work in close coordination with the Dean, Head of Department, and regular faculty members of the concerned Faculty/School.
