Production Supervisor experienced in Transformer Industry

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Management

• Plan and execute daily production schedules for transformer components (core, coils, insulation, tanking, assembly, wiring, testing).
• Allocate manpower, materials, and tools to ensure smooth workflow.
• Monitor work progress and ensure on-time completion of production targets.
• Coordinate with planning and supply chain teams for material availability.

2. Safety & Equipment Management

• Enforce safety protocols and ensure safe operation of winding & welding machines, ovens, cranes, compressor etc.
• Monitor equipment health and coordinate preventive maintenance.
• Ensure proper handling of raw materials.

3. Team Leadership

• Supervise production operators, welders, winders, technicians, and helpers.
• Train team on processes, safety, and quality requirements.
• Conduct shift meetings and maintain discipline and productivity.
• Evaluate performance and provide feedback and coaching.

4. Process Improvement

• Identify bottlenecks and drive lean manufacturing practices (5S, Kaizen, root-cause analysis).
• Optimize cycle times and reduce rework, scrap, and breakdowns.
• Support implementation of new manufacturing technologies and automation.

5. Reporting & Coordination

• Maintain daily production reports, downtime records, and material consumption.
• Communicate with engineering, procurement, QA/QC, testing, and logistics teams.
• Assist in audits (internal, customer, ISO).

Skills & Qualifications

Education

• Diploma or BE in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience

• 3–8 years of experience in transformer (power/distribution) manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in at least one major area: coil winding, core assembly, tank fabrication, assembly, vacuum drying, or testing.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of transformer design basics, insulation systems, and manufacturing tolerances.
• Familiar with production tools, jigs, winding machines, presses, cranes, and ovens.

Soft Skills

• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Time management and ability to work under deadlines.
