Job description The Production Head is responsible for overseeing the entire production process in a food manufacturing facility. This role involves managing production operations, ensuring product quality, implementing health and safety standards, and leading a team of production staff to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets. The Production Head also plays a key role in developing and optimizing production processes, reducing costs, and improving operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Production Management: Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the production process. Coordinate production schedules and ensure timely production and delivery of products. Ensure that all production activities comply with food safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies. Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of production supervisors, operators, and workers. Provide training and development opportunities for the production team. Foster a culture of teamwork, motivation, and high performance. Quality Control: Monitor production output to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with food safety standards. Implement corrective actions to resolve any quality issues promptly. Work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to conduct inspections and audits. Process Improvement: Analyse production processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement. Develop and implement strategies to optimize the use of resources, reduce waste, and increase production capacity. Stay updated with industry trends and technologies to implement best practices in production processes. Inventory and Supply Chain Coordination: Ensure the availability of raw materials and ingredients for production in collaboration. Monitor inventory levels to avoid production delays or excess stock. Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients to maintain quality and safety. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including hygiene practices, machine safety, and workplace safety. Conduct regular safety audits and training for production staff. Investigate and resolve any safety incidents or concerns. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production data, including production volumes, downtime, and quality control results. Prepare regular reports for senior management on production performance, challenges, and improvements. Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage the production department’s budget. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality or safety. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: Fresher are most Welcome. 5+ years of experience in food production, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Proven track record of managing production teams in the food manufacturing industry. Skills and Competencies: Strong leadership and team management skills. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Proficient in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Working Conditions: Full-time position with occasional weekend or evening shifts, depending on production needs. Work environment includes a manufacturing facility with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and machinery.
