Job Description

Production merchandiser

We need a Merchandiser who can look after the full production process of our men’s bottom-wear products. This person will make sure everything runs on time—from buying fabric to making the final garment and sending it to distributors. They will also help manage our ready-made product range and support the sales team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Tracking & Coordination

  • Plan and monitor the full production process for men’s bottom wear, including:
  • Fabric procurement and approvals
  • Cutting, stitching, washing, finishing
  • Value-added processes (embroidery, printing, patchwork, appliqué, etc.)
  • Ensure each production stage meets the agreed timeline and quality standards.
  • Maintain daily/weekly production reports and highlight delays or risks.
  • Coordinate with production managers, tailors, washing units, and finishing teams to ensure smooth workflow

2. Fabric & Trims Management

  • Track fabric consumption, wastages, and re-order requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of fabrics, trims, accessories (buttons, zippers, labels, tags), etc.

3. Order Management (Made-to-Order Production)

  • Plan production schedules based on buyer deadlines and available capacity.
  • Ensure correct execution of buyer-specific fits, washes, trims, and packaging instructions.
  • Communicate updates to sales teams and management regarding order progress.

4. Costing & Documentation

  • Prepare preliminary and final costing for each style.
  • Monitor production efficiency and cost variances.
  • Maintain all production documentation: purchase orders, job work orders, QC reports, dispatch notes, etc.

5. Time & Value Addition Tracking

  • Prepare Time & Action (T&A) calendars for each order and collection.
  • Track the exact timeline of:

Fabric sourcing
SamplingValue-addition processesBulk productionFinishing and dispatch

  • Escalate delays and follow up to bring processes back on schedule.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years of experience as a Merchandiser in apparel manufacturing (preferably in bottoms/denim/casual wear).
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, washes, and trims.
  • Experience in production planning and Time & Action (T&A) management.
  • Good communication and vendor management skills.
  • Strong understanding of costing, quality inspections, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, or production tracking tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
