Production Manager

To plan, manage, and control end-to-end production operations ensuring timely delivery, required quality standards, optimal productivity, and cost efficiency in a canvas bags and heavy fabric manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning &Control

· Prepare and execute daily and monthly production plans as per order priorities.

· Ensure achievement of production targets and on-time deliveries.

· Monitor WIP, line output, and capacity utilization.

Shop-Floor & Line Management

· Manage shop-floor operations with strong control over productivity and discipline.

· Handle multiple production lines and styles simultaneously.

· Perform line balancing and address bottlenecks to improve efficiency.

Manpower Management

· Supervise operators, helpers, supervisors, and support staff.

· Allocate manpower based on skills and production needs.

· Train and develop operators for multi-skilling and efficiency improvement.

Quality & Cost Control

· Ensure quality control at source to reduce defects, rework, and rejection.

· Monitor material usage (fabric, foam, webbing, zippers, accessories) as per BOM.

· Control material wastage, overtime, and production costs.

Reporting & Coordination

· Maintain daily production and efficiency reports using basic Excel.

· Coordinate with merchandising, QC, sourcing, and dispatch teams.

· Escalate issues proactively and implement corrective actions.

Key Requirements

· 3–5 years of production experience; 2–3 years in canvas bags / luggage / backpacks.

· Strong shop-floor control with hands-on production involvement.

· Knowledge of bag construction, sewing machines, and materials.

· Ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple styles.

· Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Education & Experience

· Graduate with 3–5 years of experience in bags or garment manufacturing unit.
