π Job Overview: The Production In-Charge is responsible for managing the full production cycle from planning to execution and quality control. The role demands strong leadership, technical understanding of fabrication processes (laser cutting, bending, welding), and a focus on productivity, quality, and on-time delivery. --- π― Key Responsibilities: 1. Production Planning & Scheduling Develop daily and weekly production plans based on incoming job orders. Prioritize tasks and allocate resources (machine + manpower) efficiently. Plan for material availability and machine capacity. 2. Supervision & Execution Supervise operators, fabricators, and helpers. Monitor work progress on the shop floor. Resolve bottlenecks and ensure production targets are met on time. 3. Quality Control Inspect in-process and final products to ensure they meet the drawing/specification. Identify defects, root causes, and coordinate rework if needed. Maintain documentation of QC checks and defect logs. 4. Reporting & Documentation Maintain production records (output, downtime, rework, etc.). Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management. Update job status regularly (digitally or manually). 5. Resource Management Coordinate raw material consumption and maintain inventory visibility. Ensure machines and tools are in proper working condition. Raise maintenance requests as needed. 6. Workplace Safety & Discipline Ensure safe work practices and maintain shop floor discipline. Train new workers on safety, process, and quality standards. --- π§ Skills & Competencies Required: Strong understanding of fabrication processes (cutting, bending, welding) Ability to read technical drawings and job cards Team management and task delegation Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure Basic knowledge of production planning software (Excel or Zoho Projects/Sprints/Creator) Excellent communication and reporting skills --- π Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering (preferred) 2β5 years of experience in a similar role in manufacturing/fabrication Hands-on experience in a shop-floor environment Show more Show less
