PRODUCTION MANAGER-RETAIL FURNITURE/MANUFACTURER

Job Title: Production Manager – Retail Furniture Department: Production / Manufacturing Location: [Company Location] Reports To: Operations Head / General Manager Job Summary: The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end furniture manufacturing process, ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely delivery. This role involves managing production teams, optimizing processes, maintaining cost control, and ensuring adherence to quality standards in retail furniture manufacturing. Key Responsibilities: 1. Production Planning & Execution: · Develop and implement production schedules based on order requirements. · Ensure optimal resource allocation, including materials, manpower, and machinery. · Monitor daily production progress and resolve bottlenecks to meet deadlines. 2. Quality Control & Assurance: · Ensure all furniture meets design specifications and quality standards. · Implement quality checks at various production stages. · Work with the QC team to minimize defects and rework. 3. Team Management & Supervision: · Lead and manage the production team, including supervisors, carpenters, machine operators, and assembly staff. · Provide training and skill development programs for workers. · Maintain a safe and productive work environment. 4. Cost & Inventory Management: · Monitor production costs to ensure profitability. · Control material wastage and optimize raw material usage. · Work closely with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials. 5. Process Improvement & Efficiency: · Implement lean manufacturing techniques for better efficiency. · Optimize workflow and introduce automation where possible. · Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions. 6. Compliance & Safety: · Ensure all production activities comply with industry regulations and company policies. · Implement workplace safety procedures and ensure worker compliance. Requirements & Qualifications: · Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Furniture Manufacturing, or related fields. · Experience: 5+ years in furniture production, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. · Technical Skills: o Knowledge of furniture materials, joinery, and finishing techniques. o Experience with CNC machines, edge banding, and panel processing equipment. o Proficiency in AutoCAD, ERP, and production management software. · Soft Skills: o Strong leadership and team management abilities. o Problem-solving and decision-making skills. o Excellent communication and coordination skills. Preferred Qualifications: · Experience in retail or modular furniture manufacturing. · Understanding of sustainable and cost-effective production methods.
