Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Production Manager to oversee the end-to-end manufacturing operations of our readymade garments facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling production to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will act as the bridge between the merchandising team and the factory floor, ensuring seamless execution from cut to pack.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop detailed production plans and monthly/weekly schedules based on order quantities and delivery dates.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising and Planning teams to review Tech Packs and BOMs (Bill of Materials) before production starts.
  • Allocate resources (manpower, machinery, and materials) effectively to meet daily targets.
  • Conduct Pre-Production Meetings (PPM) to clarify potential bottlenecks and technical requirements.

2. Floor Operations & Efficiency

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Cutting, Sewing, Finishing, and Packing departments.
  • Monitor line balancing to ensure smooth workflow and minimize idle time.
  • Track hourly production output against targets and take immediate corrective action on deviations.
  • Implement "Lean Manufacturing" principles to reduce waste and improve floor efficiency.

3. Quality Assurance & Control

  • Ensure all garments are produced according to the buyer’s quality standards and approved samples.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as RFT (Right First Time), DHU (Defects per Hundred Units), and rejection rates.
  • Work closely with the Quality Manager to resolve technical construction issues on the line.

4. Cost & Material Management

  • Control production costs by minimizing fabric wastage (maintaining an optimal Cut-to-Ship ratio) and reducing re-work.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of machinery to prevent downtime and repair costs.
  • Monitor inventory levels of trims and accessories on the floor to prevent shortages.

5. Team Management & Compliance

  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of Production Supervisors, Line In-charges, and Operators.
  • Enforce strict adherence to factory health and safety regulations and labor compliance standards.
  • Evaluate staff performance and identify training needs to upgrade the skill level of the workforce.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • On-Time Delivery (OTD): > 98%
  • Efficiency: Achievement of daily production targets vs. capacity.
  • Quality: Reduction in rejection rates and customer claims.
  • Cost: Adherence to the manufacturing budget and fabric consumption targets.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Garment Manufacturing Technology (GMT), Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: [5-10] years of hands-on experience in apparel manufacturing, with at least [3] years in a managerial role.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of garment construction (Knits/Wovens/Denim), pattern making, IE (Industrial Engineering) concepts, and machinery.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., WFX, SAP, Stage) and MS Excel.

  • Problem-Solving: Quick decision-making skills to handle production bottlenecks and urgent issues.
  • Communication: Clear verbal and written communication to liaise with buyers, merchandisers, and floor staff.
  • Stress Management: Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
