Product Manager

Vandey provides outsourced instructional services to institutions of higher education and is seeking a candidate to work for Vandey to serve in a full-time role as a Product Manager with the University of the People.

Overview:

Product managers play a central role driving the development and delivery of a successful product. The product manager defines the product vision, strategy and roadmap, ensuring that the product aligns with organizational goals and delivers value to our applicants and students. The product manager works with business stake holders, product owners and technology teams and as such it involves strategic planning, cross functional team collaboration, market research and ensuring a seamless product lifecycle from ideation to launch and beyond.

Responsibilities:

• Drives product vision, strategy and roadmap – define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy, create and maintain a detailed roadmap that aligns with university objectives and key initiatives.
• Focused on user needs and problem solving – communicate effectively to address queries during development and facilitate resolutions between cross-functional teams.
• Work closely and collaborate with team members – work closely with business stake holders, designers, product owners and engineers to ensure seamless execution of product development.
• Define requirement per business goals – create detailed requirements specifications for new features or enhancements.
• Prioritize based on user value – drive prioritization and act as the voice of business teams and ensures the product delivers value and address needs raised effectively.
• Drives user acceptance testing for products - define test criteria, validate the product meet the business requirements and address issues found in UAT with core and scrum teams.
• Team Management – manage a small team, provide guidance, feedback and support to team members to help them achieve their professional growth and project objectives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, marketing, or a related field.
• Proven experience in product management.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working in agile or scrum environments.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to handle major projects simultaneously.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and make informed decisions under pressure.
• Experience in user research methodologies and usability testing.
• Proven global and remote people management skills.
• English as a mother tongue - an advantage
