Job Purpose
Product marketing managers work at the intersection of product development, marketing, and sales. Their broad responsibility is to develop and implement a marketing strategy roadmap for a specific product. In order to successfully reach their goal, product marketing managers typically work with colleagues across many departments throughout the product’s life cycle. As their title suggests, product marketing managers focus heavily on marketing, so they often coordinate efforts with strategists across various marketing disciplines, including digital, social media, brand, and market research. Cross-departmentally, product marketing managers also work closely with product managers, user experience (UX) designers, engineers, and stakeholders in the product’s launch, including communications and sales teams.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Set up & monitoring of robust & sustainable acquisition workflows implementation, processes & initiatives.
- Translate product's technical details into benefits for the user.
- Follow and analyze market trends to position products.
- Develop product marketing strategies (pricing, advertising, product launching).
- Craft compelling messages across marketing channels (landing pages, ad campaigns).
- Work with various teams (design, content, acquisition, product, sales) to implement strategies.
- Test marketing product features, releases and ad copy.
- Evaluate products using relevant KPIs and feedback from existing and prospective customers.
- Acquisition: Bringing awareness to the product through content such as social media, copywriting, and blogs. This requires the product marketing manager to determine what type of campaign needs to be done, create a budget for the marketing endeavors, craft a project plan to map out when this content will be released, and oversee a team who will create the desired content.
- Engagement: Building trust and creating conversation with potential customers through events, campaigns, and specific calls to action.
- Conversion and Retention: Converting potential customers and keeping existing customers loyal.
- Partner with Sales Teams: Partner with sales team to develop sales collateral, provide training on product features and benefits, and support sales initiatives.
- Monitor and report on results: monitor and report on effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives. Use data and analytics to drive continuous improvement and optimize marketing strategies.
- Manage Budgets: manage marketing budgets and allocate resources to maximize ROI and achieving marketing goals.
Education Qualification
Graduation: Bachelor’s in Engineering / Technology / Management/ Computers/Science.Post-graduation: MBA.
Experience:
2 to 5 year of relevant experience.
