Hitachi Energy is currently looking for an Engineering Team Leader for the Distribution Transformers (Dry/Oil) Business to join their team in Global Engineering Center in Vadodara

How You’ll Make An Impact
- Manage Team of mechanical and electrical designers, deliver design and engineering requirements of project with design optimization aligned with GEC/Factory KPIs and develop technical competence of engineering team.
- Ensure effective communication for team with host factory in terms of understanding the needs, design review meeting, urgency of task, resolving QN’s, fast response
- Ensure design and engineering activities without errors and on-time delivery in accordance with customer specifications / host factory needs while maintaining KPIs agreed with factory.

- Recognize and reinforce the performance of team members by identifying and encouraging the improvements by development plan.
- Support for development of engineering team members and defining career paths. Coaching the team in a constructive way that strengthens the competency level, communication and reinforces desired results and behaviors.
- Monitor and review design documents prepared by the team and execution of design deliverables.
- Identify methods to avoid cost over-runs and areas to maximize cost-saving while preparing design and implement.
- Coordinate with factory designers who conduct joint inspections with the Manufacturing and Testing departments. Support troubleshooting of issues at vendor-end and at workshop.
- Evaluate priority and severity of manufacturing or quality errors and in coordination with the host factory, assign to the team for corrective measures.
- Managing and addressing risks associated with gaps in the team’s technical competence level.
- Motivate the team as all are remotely working for the host factory. Retention of employees.

Your background
- B.E. (Mechanical/Electrical)
- 12 years’ experience in Trafo design, mainly on Dry/Oil type transformer design.
- Experience of working for North America market IEEE standard & working for Europe and Asian market IEC standard.
- Previous experience in dealing with host factory tasks like GEC set up will give added advantages.
- Sound understanding and hands-on for engineering budgets.
- Substantial experience in working with a cross-functional team.
- Understanding and experience on driving DtV projects.
- Thorough knowledge of design systems, tools and processes being used in Design of Dry/Oil type Transformers.
- Soft skill in collaboration, effective communication & fast response as working remotely on engineering task for host factory.
- Adaptability to new systems and processes of various factories.
- Innovative & Proactive: always looks on continuous improvement related to deliverables, process, and readiness for future.
