Procurement Specialist - Indirect & Capex

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of the purchasing and logistics-related activities in the Procurement function to support the businesses. Each day, you will execute assigned activities as per ABB standard procedures. You will also showcase your proficiency by delivering and participating in training programs as required to ensure compliance and support professional development.

This role is contributing to the ABB India, Smart Buildings, Electrification, Business, for Supply Chain Operation function at Bangalore location.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Design and implement local sourcing plans to meet business targets while supporting regional and global sourcing initiatives.
• Manage end-to-end sourcing for indirect spend and Capex projects, including RFQs, bid analysis, negotiation, and order processing.
• Identify and execute cost reduction initiatives, support vendor onboarding, performance monitoring, and manage supplier relationships.
• Ensure compliance with ABBs quality, safety, sustainability, and ethics standards while maintaining effective reporting and transparent communication.

Qualifications for the role

• 58 years of experience in sourcing and procurement operations/category management of indirect materials and services.
• Practical knowledge of contract management and supplier compliance.
• Category proficiency in automation, machine building, or industrialization projects. Subcontracting knowledge is beneficial.
• Effective analytical, costing, and negotiation skills are included.
• Effective ability in people relations and stakeholder engagement with proficient organizational skills.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel and SAP MM for sourcing and procurement activities.
• Qualification: BE in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; experienced diploma holders will also be considered.
