Procurement Officer

• A Procurement Officer sources, purchases, and manages goods/services, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery by evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and maintaining vendor relationships, bridging company needs with external vendors for optimal supply chain efficiency. Key duties include identifying needs, finding suppliers, negotiating terms, managing inventory, overseeing contracts, and ensuring compliance with budgets and ethical standards. Job Overview/Summary
• Responsible for the entire procurement cycle, from identifying needs to receiving and managing supplies, ensuring value for money and alignment with organizational goals, often reporting to a Procurement Manager. Key Responsibilities
• Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers and contractors, fostering strong relationships and managing performance.
• Sourcing & Negotiation: Develop sourcing strategies, negotiate prices, payment terms, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Purchasing: Place orders, track deliveries, manage inventory, and resolve order discrepancies.
• Cost & Budget Control: Monitor expenses, control budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal departments to understand needs and requirements.
• Contract Management: Maintain and review vendor contracts. Quality Assurance: Ensure purchased items meet quality standards.

• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Understanding of market trends, risk management, and ethical/sustainable sourcing.
• Strategic thinking and attention to detail. Relevant degree (Business, Supply Chain) and industry experience.
