Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Procurement Manager with strong expertise in fleet hiring, vendor negotiation, and supplier management within the logistics industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and finalizing competitive rates for rented fleets, developing and maintaining vendor relations, analyzing vendor credibility and market reputation, and ensuring cost efficiency and operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Procurement & Rate Management:
  • Source and finalize cost-effective rates for rented fleets (FTL, LCV, trailers, etc.) as per business requirements.
  • Evaluate rate trends and ensure alignment with company profitability and market standards.
  • Vendor Identification & Evaluation:
  • Identify, onboard, and manage a pool of reliable transport vendors and fleet operators.
  • Gather complete vendor intelligence — including their operational strengths, market reputation, reliability, financial stability, and past performance.
  • Monitor vendor rumors, informal market feedback, and overall credibility before finalizing contracts.
  • Negotiation & Contracting:
  • Negotiate rates, payment terms, and service agreements to ensure long-term cost benefits and operational stability.
  • Draft and manage vendor contracts while ensuring compliance with company procurement policies.
  • Vendor Relationship Management:
  • Maintain strong, transparent relationships with vendors to ensure timely availability of fleets and quick resolution of issues.
  • Periodically review vendor performance and address service gaps proactively.
  • Market Analysis:
  • Stay updated with market trends, competitor pricing, and transportation cost fluctuations.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities in vendor markets.
  • Coordination & Reporting:
  • Coordinate closely with the operations and accounts teams for fleet allocation, billing, and payment processing.
  • Prepare vendor comparison sheets, rate analysis, and cost-saving reports.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Education: Graduate / Postgraduate in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration.
  • Experience: 5–10 years of relevant experience in logistics procurement or fleet hiring (preferably in a logistics or transport company).
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Deep understanding of transport vendors, fleet categories, and market rate structures.
  • Vendor networking and intelligence-gathering capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, rate comparison, and vendor management tools.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
